About Bike World
Bike World has been renting bikes on the Ocean City Boardwalk since 1978, making it one of the longest-running rental businesses in town. From its flagship shop at 6 Caroline Street near the inlet, the family operation has expanded to five locations along the boards, including stands at 1st Street, 8th Street, 18th Street, and 27th Street.
The fleet covers classic beach cruisers, tandems, kids' bikes, and the multi-seat surrey carriages that have become a boardwalk morning tradition, with fringe-topped models that carry a whole family at once. Rentals are offered by the hour during the boardwalk's cycling hours, and helmets and baby seats are available so parents can bring the youngest riders along.
Nearly five decades of summers give Bike World an unmatched footprint: whichever end of the boardwalk a visitor is staying on, a rental stand is within a few blocks, and bikes can be picked up early enough to catch sunrise over the Atlantic before the crowds arrive. It is the definitive way to cover all three miles of the boardwalk without breaking a sweat.
