About Cable Bay Adventure Park
Cable Bay Adventure Park is the largest multi-activity adventure park in the Nelson region, set across a sweeping coastal valley just 15 minutes' drive from the centre of Nelson. The park has grown into the area's go-to destination for adrenaline seekers and families alike, combining high-speed thrills with an extensive trail network and a relaxed café at its heart.
The park's headline attraction is the Skywire — a four-seater flying fox that reaches speeds of up to 100km/h as it soars across the valley. Beyond the Skywire, visitors can join guided quad bike tours through native forest, play paintball on a purpose-built field, tackle the climbing wall, or explore the mountain biking trail network that ranges from flowing Grade 3 single track up to technical Grade 6 descents. Mountain bikes and e-bikes are available for hire by the day, and an MTB shuttle service runs riders to the top of the trails.
What makes Cable Bay stand out is the sheer variety packed into one location — riders, walkers, families and thrill-seekers can all find something, then regroup at the on-site café for food and coffee. Day passes and annual memberships give trail access, and the park caters to group bookings and events with dedicated catering, making it equally suited to a casual family afternoon or a full day of high-octane adventure.
