About Nelson Yacht Charters
Nelson Yacht Charters offers private sailing experiences aboard "Easy Rider," a spacious Wildcat 350 catamaran berthed at K2 in Nelson Marina. Skippered by Tony "Boxy" Box — who holds a New Zealand master yacht ticket and has sailed extensively through the Caribbean and Mediterranean — the operation specialises in relaxed, customisable charters across Nelson Harbour, Tasman Bay and the wider top of the South Island.
The most popular outing is the four-hour Tasman Bay cruise, which heads north along the boulder bank, out into the bay and back to anchor off Haulashore Island, with time for swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking and fishing along the way. For those wanting to go further, multi-day charters explore Abel Tasman National Park and its golden-sand beaches and pristine coastline. The catamaran carries up to 19 passengers on day trips and up to six on overnight adventures, making it suited to everything from family outings to small group celebrations.
The appeal of Nelson Yacht Charters lies in its flexibility and the stable, comfortable platform of a sailing catamaran. Every trip is tailored to the guests on board, whether that means a leisurely afternoon swim stop, a fishing session, or a full coastal expedition. With a highly experienced skipper at the helm and the whole boat chartered privately for each group, it delivers an exclusive way to experience Nelson's waters.
