About Cairns Dive Centre
Cairns Dive Centre is a PADI 5-Star Career Development Centre that has been operating from the heart of Cairns since 1982, making it one of the longest-running dive schools in tropical North Queensland. Located on Abbott Street just a short walk from the Esplanade, the centre offers the full spectrum of PADI courses from Discover Scuba Diving through to Divemaster and Instructor-level certifications, all taught by a multilingual team of instructors who collectively speak over a dozen languages.
Daily reef trips depart aboard their purpose-built dive vessel, visiting two outer reef sites on the Great Barrier Reef with up to three dives per trip for certified divers and introductory experiences for beginners. The boat features a spacious dive deck, hot showers, and a sun deck, with all equipment included in the trip price. For those wanting a deeper experience, Cairns Dive Centre runs multi-day liveaboard trips to the Ribbon Reefs and Cod Hole, where encounters with massive potato cod, reef sharks, and manta rays are common highlights.
