About Cetacean Cruises
Cetacean Cruises runs dolphin and sailing tours from the Wharf marina district on Wharf Parkway in Orange Beach, working the Intracoastal Waterway, Terry Cove, and Perdido Pass where the area's resident bottlenose dolphin pods feed year-round.
The company operates two very different vessels: Cetacean, a 52-foot sailing catamaran used for sailing-and-dolphin combos and sunset sails, and Explorer, a low-slung pontoon-style boat whose rail sits close to the waterline for eye-level dolphin encounters on the two-hour eco tours. Trips run seven days a week in season, guides narrate the estuary's bird and marine life, and the outfit backs its eco tours with a guarantee — if no dolphins show, the next trip is free. Private charters cover proposals, family reunions, and small weddings.
The differentiator is the two-boat range: guests can choose a quiet sail under canvas or a close-to-the-water nature tour from the same dock, which few Gulf Coast dolphin operators offer. Departing from the Wharf also means guests step off the boat into the district's restaurants, Ferris wheel, and shops, making it an easy anchor for a full family evening.
