About Costa Rica Dive and Surf
Costa Rica Dive and Surf is a PADI 5-Star dive center operating out of Bahía Ballena in Uvita, just 200 metres north of the main entrance to Marino Ballena National Park. With roughly 18 years of experience delivering underwater adventures on the South Pacific coast, the center has become the go-to operation for divers and snorkelers heading to the region's standout marine sites, backed by three dedicated boats and continuously maintained equipment.
Their flagship trips run to the Caño Island Biological Reserve, one of Costa Rica's premier dive destinations, where clear water reveals reef fish, sea turtles, rays and larger pelagic life. Closer to shore, they run scuba and snorkeling excursions inside Marino Ballena National Park among its rock formations and tropical fish, plus seasonal whale watching departures. As a full PADI center, they offer the complete course ladder from Discover Scuba Diving through to Divemaster certification, and they also teach beginner, intermediate and group surf lessons at Playa Chaman and Playa Hermosa.
The combination of PADI 5-Star credentials, nearly two decades of local operation and a genuine dive-and-surf offering makes this center a rare one-stop shop for both underwater and wave-riding adventures. Guests benefit from small-group attention, well-kept gear and guides who know the Caño Island and Ballena dive sites season by season.
