About Diving Center Viking
Diving Center Viking is a family-run dive school on Hvar that has been introducing visitors to the Adriatic's underwater world since 2003. Located at Put Podstina near the waterfront south of Hvar town, the centre is run by Vinko, a CMAS 2-star instructor and licensed boat captain with over thirty years of diving experience in Croatian waters.
Viking offers everything from introductory dives for absolute beginners to PADI certification courses and guided dive trips to Hvar's most spectacular sites — including underwater caves, vertical walls, and reef systems around the island's southern coast. Their house reef is accessible directly from the centre, so students can practise skills in calm, shallow water before heading out by boat. Full scuba gear rental is available, and their dive boat is equipped for comfortable group outings.
The family atmosphere is what keeps divers coming back — Vinko and his team treat guests like friends rather than customers, sharing local knowledge about dive sites, marine life, and island history along the way. For anyone wanting a laid-back, personal diving experience without the polish of a resort operation, Viking is hard to beat.
