Donner Ski Ranch is a family-owned ski area on Donner Pass Road at Donner Summit, open since 1937 and one of the few independent hills left in the area. Skiing runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week, and parking is free.
It rents skis and snowboards, teaches lessons and runs snow tubing. The OLD 40 Bar & Grill sits at the base, and the hill is on the Indy Pass.
