About Eco Marine Kayak Tours
Eco Marine Kayak Tours is a dedicated sea-kayaking operator running guided paddles out to Pelican Point on the Walvis Bay peninsula, a short drive south of Swakopmund. The company built its name on intimate, low-impact wildlife encounters, taking small groups onto the sheltered lagoon waters where the desert coastline teems with marine life.
The heart of the experience is paddling among the enormous Cape fur seal colony at Pelican Point, where thousands of curious, playful seals swim right up to the stable sit-on-top kayaks. Trips begin with a scenic 4x4 transfer along the Walvis Bay lagoon — passing flamingos, pelicans and the vast salt works — followed by a safety briefing before guests launch into the calm, protected waters. Guides tailor the pace to the group, and the sheltered bay makes the outing accessible even to complete beginners.
An emphasis on eco-conscious, small-group tours and close-up encounters with the seals, dolphins and abundant birdlife of the lagoon has made Eco Marine a favourite for nature lovers on the Namibian coast. Morning departures take advantage of the calmest water and the most active wildlife.
