About Epic Excursions
Epic Excursions is a private boat charter company operating from the public boat ramp at 109 Causeway Drive in Wrightsville Beach, specializing in island-hopping trips through the sounds, sandbars, and barrier islands around the Intracoastal Waterway. Masonboro Island — the wild, boat-access-only reserve just south of the beach — anchors most itineraries.
Their most popular trip is a three-hour half-day private charter with swimming and sandbar stops, alongside a four-hour version that adds a float pad and more island time, two-hour private sunset and dolphin-watching cruises, and a local oyster farm tour with tasting. Two vessels cover groups of different sizes, including the 27-foot Epic Voyager that carries up to 18 passengers, and the company also arranges Masonboro Island camping and glamping trips plus a kids summer camp.
Because every charter is private, the captain builds each trip around the group — shelling on Masonboro, rope swings along the waterway, or simply anchoring at the sandbar scene on a Saturday. That flexibility, plus capacity for larger groups than most local six-pack charters, makes Epic a strong pick for family reunions and celebrations.
