About South End Surf Shop
South End Surf Shop is a classic beach-town surf shop sitting at 708 S Lumina Avenue near the south end of Wrightsville Beach, steps from some of the island's most consistent breaks. It's the kind of shop where the staff actually surf the spot they're renting you a board for, and it has been a fixture of the Wrightsville surf scene for decades.
The shop rents surfboards, bodyboards, skimboards, and beach gear, and runs surf and SUP lessons right out front on the beach. All instructors are CPR and First Aid certified, and lessons are geared to true beginners as well as intermediate surfers looking to sharpen technique. The retail side stocks boards, wetsuits, fins, leashes, and everyday surf apparel.
South End's advantage is location and local knowledge — the south end of the island picks up swell that the crowded northern accesses miss, and the shop's team can tell you exactly where and when to paddle out based on the day's wind and tide.
