About Extra Surf School
Extra Surf School is one of the longest-established surf operations in Ericeira, Portugal — Europe's first World Surfing Reserve. Teaching since 2005, the school has guided thousands of visitors through the consistent beach breaks and reef setups that make this stretch of the Portuguese coast a year-round surfing destination.
The team runs group, private and kids' lessons for every level, alongside dedicated coaching for intermediate and advanced surfers looking to refine their technique. Surf guiding sessions take experienced riders to the right break for the day's conditions, while the rental program covers softboards, epoxy boards and shortboards plus wetsuits, available by the half-day, full-day or in five-day packages.
What keeps Extra Surf School busy season after season is its mix of local knowledge and small-group attention. Operating year-round with instructors who know every peak in the reserve, the school caters equally to first-timers chasing their first wave and travelling surfers who want a guide to read the swell for them.
