About Freedive Dahab
Freedive Dahab is one of the very first freediving centres in the world, founded in 2003 by former world-record holder Lotta Ericson on El Fanar Street, a short walk from the Lighthouse bay in the heart of Dahab. In 2010 it became the first SSI Freediving Instructor Training Center in the world, cementing its place as a pioneer of the sport on the Red Sea.
The school teaches the full SSI freediving pathway, from first-timer sessions through advanced training, specialties and the SSI Master Program, all the way to instructor level. Beyond standard courses, it offers specialised private coaching, sled training for No-Limits and Variable Weight disciplines, and combo weeks that combine multiple certification levels into a single intensive block. The nearby Blue Hole — a submarine sinkhole roughly 130 metres deep — provides a world-class training and depth environment right on the doorstep.
Dahab's calm, clear, warm water and easy shore access make it one of the best places on earth to learn and progress in freediving, and Freedive Dahab has hosted national competitions and record attempts over its two decades.
