About Glacier Sport
Glacier Sport Ski and Hike is an INTERSPORT partner occupying a basement-level shop on Bahnhofstrasse, Zermatt's main pedestrian thoroughfare. True to their name, they specialise in both winter snow sports and summer alpine hiking equipment, making them one of the few rental shops in the village that operates at full capacity year-round rather than winding down when the last snow melts.
In winter, their rental fleet includes two tiers of equipment: Premium packages featuring the newest current-season skis from top-class brands, and Economy packages with well-maintained boards from world-renowned manufacturers at a lower price point. Beyond skis and snowboards, they carry touring setups, sleds, snowshoes, ice skates, helmets, and full clothing hire including jackets, ski pants, and gloves. Their in-house workshop handles ski and snowboard servicing from 8:30am to 6pm daily, with an overnight express service available for guests who want freshly tuned edges for the next morning.
When summer arrives, Glacier Sport transforms into a hiking outfitter, stocking alpine hiking boots, mountain climbing boots, hiking poles, and climbing equipment for visitors tackling the network of trails radiating out from Zermatt. Whether you are planning a day hike to the Riffelalp viewpoint or a multi-day traverse through the high-alpine terrain around the Matterhorn, their staff can recommend the right footwear and gear for the conditions.
