About Grimselwelt
Grimselwelt is a unique adventure destination operated by Kraftwerke Oberhasli AG, encompassing eight reservoirs, two mountain passes, four glaciers, and three dramatic valleys in the Bernese Alps above Interlaken. Originally built around hydroelectric infrastructure, the area has been transformed into one of Switzerland's most spectacular outdoor adventure playgrounds, accessible as a day trip from the Interlaken region.
The headline experiences include the Gelmerbahn — Europe's steepest open-air funicular railway with a 106% gradient — the Triftbrücke suspension bridge (the most spectacular in the Bernese Oberland), the Handeck suspension bridge hanging 70 metres above a gorge with views of the Handeck waterfall, a 16-million-year-old underground crystal cavern, dam abseiling from the 92-metre Räterichsboden dam, and the Tälli via ferrata (Switzerland's first). Multiple hiking trails connect the various attractions.
