About Island Adventures
Island Adventures is Newport's one-stop outdoor rental shop, based at 24 Waites Wharf in the downtown waterfront district — a quarter mile from the start of Ocean Drive and an easy roll to King's Beach. The shop is built for visitors who want to explore Aquidneck Island under their own power without hauling gear from home.
The rental fleet spans traditional bikes, electric bikes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, beach gear, and open-air low-speed vehicles for cruising Ocean Drive and the mansion district. E-bikes flatten the hills on the ten-mile Ocean Drive loop, kayaks and SUPs open up the calm coves of Newport Harbor, and delivery service brings equipment to guests who would rather meet their gear at the water or their rental house. The shop runs seven days a week through the summer season with online reservations.
The breadth is the point: one stop covers a family's whole Newport day — bikes for the Cliff Walk and Ocean Drive in the morning, paddleboards in the harbor after lunch, chairs and umbrellas for the beach. Being steps from the wharves and the start of the scenic loop makes Island Adventures the most convenient launchpad for exploring Newport on two wheels or on the water.
