About Lofoten Havfiske
Lofoten Havfiske is a locally owned fishing guide service based at Skreda in the Nappstraumen area, roughly five kilometres from Leknes Airport in the geographic centre of the Lofoten archipelago. The company is run by Eirik Grønhaug, who was born and raised on these islands, grew up on fishing boats with his father, and has turned a lifetime of local knowledge into one of Lofoten's most respected guided fishing operations.
Guided trips target the region's headline species — monster cod, coalfish, and halibut — aboard a custom-built Alumarin 760C designed for stability and comfort in open Arctic waters. Eirik is joined by Johan Mikkelsen, a guide with over fifteen years of professional experience across Northern Norway, ensuring guests benefit from two of the area's most knowledgeable fishermen. Trips accommodate complete beginners through to hardcore anglers, with all equipment and instruction provided.
What makes Lofoten Havfiske special is the combination of genuine local heritage and professional guiding standards. Nappstraumen is one of Norway's most productive fishing grounds, known for strong tidal currents that concentrate baitfish and attract large predators. The company also operates a fishing camp with seaside cabins, making it easy to turn a day trip into a multi-day fishing holiday.
