About Hooked on Lofoten
Hooked on Lofoten is a fishing and hiking guide service run by Captain Erlend, who grew up in the Lofoten Islands and comes from a long line of local fishermen. Based out of Kabelvåg with regular departures toward Henningsvær and the surrounding waters, the company offers intimate, small-group experiences that blend genuine Arctic fishing with coastal exploration and mountain hiking.
On the water, guests head out on a fast, agile speedboat limited to five people, allowing the captain to move quickly between fishing spots and adapt to conditions in real time. The focus is on authentic local-style fishing — jigging for cod, coalfish, and other species in the same grounds that have sustained Lofoten communities for centuries. They also run scenic boat tours from Kabelvåg to the iconic fishing village of Henningsvær, with roughly two hours and forty-five minutes to wander the galleries, shops, and harbourside of what many call the Venice of the North. On land, guided hikes explore wild Arctic landscapes, and winter options include snowshoeing and Northern Lights excursions.
The all-year operation and diverse activity menu — from fishing and boat sightseeing to hiking and snowshoeing — make Hooked on Lofoten a versatile choice for visitors who want a multi-activity itinerary led by a single, trusted local guide.
