About Mahalo Water Sport Center
Mahalo Water Sport Center is a boutique kitesurfing and e-foil school on Koh Samui, founded by professional sailor and IKO-certified instructor Michal Kurant, who spent 13 years teaching kitesurfing across multiple continents before settling on Samui. The centre operates from seasonal beach locations — typically on the south and west coasts — chasing the best wind conditions as the monsoon patterns shift through the year.
Lessons cover kitesurfing from zero-to-hero beginner courses through to advanced riding and jump clinics, plus electric hydrofoil (e-foil) sessions for those who want to fly above the water without relying on wind. Equipment is current-generation and well maintained, and all instruction follows IKO methodology with a strong emphasis on safety, body dragging, and self-rescue techniques before students get on the board. Private and semi-private lessons are the norm, keeping student-to-instructor ratios low.
Mahalo stands out for its personal, owner-operated feel — Michal is often the one teaching — and for being one of the few centres on Samui offering dedicated e-foil instruction.
