About Marshland Adventures
Marshland Adventures has been guiding inshore fishing trips from Chimney Creek Marina on Tybee Island since 1998. Owner and full-time guide Captain Stan Allen, a retired fire captain with twenty-five years of service, has fished these marshes professionally for decades and has competed on the professional redfish tour from North Carolina to Louisiana.
The operation specializes in light tackle fishing in the shallow flats, creeks, and deeper channel edges around Tybee and Savannah. Four-hour and six-hour charters target redfish cruising the flats, spotted sea trout holding along drop-offs, flounder tucked into sandy bottoms, and sharks in the warmer months. All licenses, bait, tackle, and fish cleaning are included, and trips are structured around the group's experience level — first-timers get patient instruction while seasoned anglers get tournament-grade tactics.
What sets Marshland Adventures apart is the combination of tournament pedigree and teaching temperament. Captain Stan's redfish tour background means he reads water and tide movement at a level few local guides can match, but his charters are deliberately relaxed and family-friendly rather than run-and-gun. For visitors who want to actually learn inshore fishing — not just hold a rod while someone else does the work — this is the boat to book.
