About Rainbow Ski Area

Rainbow Ski Area is a club ski field run by Rainbow Sports Club, reached by Rainbow Valley Road off SH63 near St Arnaud and Nelson Lakes.

It sells lift and visitor day passes and season passes, and hires skis, snowboards, jackets, pants and helmets from the ticket office. There is a retail shop, a licensed cafe and a ski touring uplift.

2026 was its first season under a new weekend-only model, with volunteers helping run the field. There are no formal lessons, and a shuttle runs from the bottom car park on ski days.
