Orquidea del Sur runs canopy and zip-line adventures in partnership with Parque de Aventuras Las Nubes, an outdoor adventure park perched atop the tallest mountain above San Juan del Sur inside a private nature reserve. It is one of the marquee land-based activities in a town otherwise known for its surf, offering big-view thrills over the tropical dry forest.
The signature experience is a full canopy tour on a 10-platform course, complete with suspension bridges, ladders, and rappels rather than a simple straight-line zip. Two canopy-top platforms deliver panoramic views over San Juan del Sur bay and east toward Lake Nicaragua and Ometepe Island. Guests can also rent four-wheelers to explore the mountainous terrain and hike trails along the continental divide, with good chances of spotting toucans, sloths, and other wildlife.
