About Padaloha
Padaloha is a small, locally owned adventure company based on the Motobu Peninsula in northern Okinawa. Specialising in ocean kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, snorkelling, and river trekking, the business offers a quieter alternative to the crowded tour operators along the central coast. Their location puts guests within easy reach of Sesoko Island, the Yanbaru mangrove forests, and some of the clearest nearshore water on the main island.
Tours are kept deliberately small and are led by guides who know the local coastline intimately. The ocean kayak and SUP sessions follow sheltered routes past coral reefs and rocky headlands, with snorkelling stops built in along the way. River-trekking tours head inland to explore jungle streams, waterfalls, and the subtropical forest canopy that defines Okinawa's northern Yanbaru region. All equipment — kayaks, SUP boards, paddles, life vests, reef shoes, and snorkel gear — is provided.
What makes Padaloha special is the personal, unhurried pace. As a family-run outfit, they build tours around guests rather than fixed schedules, adjusting routes for weather, tide, and group ability. Their northern base also means less competition for beach space and calmer waters, which is a big draw for families with young children or anyone who prefers a laid-back day on the water over a busy harbour departure.
