Raglan Backpackers is a well-loved waterfront lodge and hostel on Wi Neera Street, right on the edge of Whaingaroa Harbour, and doubles as a full equipment-hire hub for travellers exploring Raglan. The lodge hires out a full range of gear for guests and non-guests alike, including short, long, beginner soft-boards and advanced surfboards, good-quality O'Neill summer and winter wetsuits, stand-up paddleboards by the hour, and bodyboards by the day. Rentals run daily from 9am to 5pm with separate guest and public pricing, so visitors can grab a board and wetsuit and walk straight to the harbour or drive out to the beach breaks.
Beyond the hire counter, Raglan Backpackers offers waterfront accommodation with kayaks and harbour swimming on the doorstep, and staff happy to advise on surf conditions, local walks and how to reach Raglan's famous points.
