About Redrock Ballooning
Redrock Ballooning is Moab's premier hot air balloon company, launching sunrise flights from Canyonlands Field Airport that drift over the iconic red rock landscape of southeast Utah. Passengers float above sandstone fins, mesas, and river canyons with unobstructed views of Arches National Park, Canyonlands, and Dead Horse Point State Park.
Flights typically last 45 to 60 minutes and are preceded by a pre-dawn meet-up where guests watch the balloon inflate against the desert sky. After landing, passengers enjoy a traditional champagne toast — a nod to ballooning's French origins. The company requires a minimum of four guests to fly, and the gondola can accommodate small private groups for special occasions.
What makes Redrock Ballooning stand out is the sheer drama of the terrain below. Unlike flat-country balloon rides, Moab flights pass over 300-million-year-old geological formations that look like another planet from the air. The pilot provides a running narration of the geology and history below, turning every flight into an airborne geology lesson.
