About Sail Door County
Sail Door County operates Door County's only tall ship — the 65-foot wooden schooner Edith M. Becker — out of Sister Bay Marina. They run daily sails from spring through fall, offering day tours, sunset sails, private charters, and special event cruises on the waters of Green Bay and the Door County peninsula.
The Edith M. Becker is a traditional gaff-rigged schooner that carries up to 20 passengers per sail. Day tours run 2 to 2.5 hours, covering the coastline from Sister Bay past the bluffs and islands of northern Door County. Sunset sails are their most popular offering, with passengers watching the sun drop behind the Green Bay horizon from the deck of a wooden sailing vessel. Private charters are available for weddings, corporate outings, and family reunions.
There's nothing else quite like Sail Door County in the region. While jet skis and pontoon boats dominate the rental scene, the Edith M. Becker offers a slower, more atmospheric way to experience the water — sails up, engine off, wind doing the work. The crew are experienced sailors who share the history of the peninsula and its maritime heritage during every voyage.
