About Sawtooth Traxx
Sawtooth Traxx is a powersports rental outfitter in Stanley, Idaho, offering snowmobile and ATV/UTV adventures in the heart of the Sawtooth Valley. Located about an hour north of Sun Valley, the Stanley Basin receives over 220 inches of snow annually and features 185 miles of groomed snowmobile trails alongside unlimited off-trail riding — making it one of the best snowmobiling destinations in the northern Rockies.
In winter, Sawtooth Traxx rents a fleet of Polaris snowmobiles with helmets provided, plus optional bibs, jackets, and boots for those who did not bring their own cold-weather gear. In summer (Memorial Day through September), they switch to Polaris ATVs and UTVs for exploring the network of Forest Service roads and mountain trails that wind through the Sawtooth, White Cloud, and Salmon River mountains. Every rental includes a complimentary helmet and a full tank of gas, and staff provide trail maps and local route suggestions so first-timers can navigate with confidence.
What makes Sawtooth Traxx appealing is the combination of quality machines and unbeatable terrain. The Stanley Basin sits at a crossroads of wilderness — Redfish Lake, the Salmon River, and the Sawtooth crest are all within easy riding distance — and the company's small-scale, locally operated approach means personalised service rather than assembly-line rentals.
