About Scuba San Diego
Scuba San Diego has been the city's trusted name in underwater adventure since 1968, making them one of the longest-running dive operators on the Southern California coast. Based on East Mission Bay Drive, they run guided scuba and snorkel tours daily to La Jolla Cove, La Jolla Shores, and the kelp forests of the San Diego–La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve.
Their offerings include guided shore dives, boat dives to Wreck Alley and the HMCS Yukon, night dives for certified divers, Discover Scuba experiences for beginners, snorkel tours, and full PADI certification courses from Open Water through Divemaster. All gear is included on guided tours, and they maintain a large rental inventory of wetsuits, BCDs, regulators, masks, and fins for certified divers heading out on their own.
What makes Scuba San Diego stand out is the depth of local knowledge their guides bring — many have been diving these reefs for decades and know exactly where to find leopard sharks, bat rays, giant sea bass, and the bright orange garibaldi that make La Jolla famous. Their small group sizes (typically 4–6 divers per guide) mean more personalised attention underwater.
