About Sealife Dolphin Watching
Sealife Dolphin Watching is a specialist marine wildlife tour operator based at the Marina de Lagos, with over 18 years of experience running dolphin and whale watching expeditions along the western Algarve coast. Founded by marine biology enthusiasts, they are dedicated to responsible wildlife observation and every trip is accompanied by a professional marine biologist who identifies species and explains animal behaviour in real time.
Their fleet consists of two 12-seat rigid inflatable boats and an 11-metre motor catamaran named Sir Sea-a-lot, offering different trip formats to suit various group sizes and comfort preferences. Guests have the chance to spot up to six species of cetaceans including bottlenose dolphins, common dolphins, Risso's dolphins, striped dolphins, orcas, and pilot whales, along with sea turtles, sunfish, and a variety of seabirds. Trips typically last two to three hours and run year-round, weather permitting.
What distinguishes Sealife from generic boat tour operators is their science-first approach — the onboard marine biologists conduct genuine research during every trip, contributing to long-term population studies of Algarve cetaceans. Their small boat sizes ensure intimate encounters with wildlife without crowding, and the RIBs can reach offshore areas where larger vessels rarely venture. With a strong commitment to eco-friendly practices and consistently glowing reviews, Sealife has established itself as the premier dolphin watching operator in Lagos.
