About Skischule Zugspitze Grainau
Skischule Zugspitze is based in the village of Grainau, the quiet alpine community directly beneath the Zugspitze and a short hop from Garmisch-Partenkirchen. With teaching locations across both Grainau and Garmisch, the school has long served families and beginners drawn to the gentle nursery slopes of the Zugspitzplatt glacier and the wider Zugspitz region.
The school offers ski and snowboard lessons for every age and ability, from first-timers finding their balance to confident skiers polishing technique, plus cross-country instruction for those who prefer the valley loipe. Its rental department equips students and walk-in guests with skis, snowboards, boots, helmets, poles, jackets and pants, as well as cross-country sets, sledges and snowshoes for winter hiking. Because lessons and gear come from the same desk, parents can outfit and book an entire family in one visit.
Skischule Zugspitze's strength is its location at the literal foot of Germany's highest mountain, giving pupils some of the most reliable snow in the country thanks to the glacier above. The combination of multilingual instruction, a broad rental fleet that reaches into Nordic and snowshoe gear, and a calm village setting makes it a dependable base for families easing into the sport.
