About Wetterstein Bergführer
Wetterstein Bergführer is a guiding collective based on Waxensteinstraße in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, named for the Wetterstein massif that frames the town and crowns out on the Zugspitze. The guides organise individually tailored trips throughout the Alps but keep a special focus on the dramatic mountains that rise directly above Garmisch.
The service covers the full spectrum of technical mountain sport: Zugspitze ascents by multiple routes including the demanding Höllental and the airy Jubiläumsgrat ridge, alpine rock climbing and ridge traverses, via ferrata, winter ski touring for both beginners and advanced skiers, freeride descents and ice-climbing instruction. Professional mountaineering courses build the skills clients need to progress, and trips are run in small groups of roughly one to five people per guide so the pace and objective fit the party rather than a fixed schedule.
Wetterstein Bergführer stands out for its bespoke, small-group philosophy and its concentration of expertise on the home range. Day rates reflect a premium, fully personalised service led by certified guides, and the emphasis on individually organised trips means clients get an itinerary shaped around their experience and ambitions rather than a one-size-fits-all package, ideal for anyone serious about the Garmisch high routes.
