About Tabo Surf Center
Tabo Surf Center is a long-running windsurf, kitesurf, and sailing school located in Gera Lario at the very top of Lake Como, where the reliable Breva and Tivano winds create some of the best conditions for wind-powered sports anywhere on the Italian lakes. The centre has been a fixture of the local watersports scene for years and draws students from across northern Italy and neighbouring Switzerland.
Courses cover windsurfing, kitesurfing, catamaran sailing, and the newer discipline of wing foiling, with structured levels from absolute beginner through advanced. Private lessons are available for faster progression, and multi-day camps offer intensive training blocks during peak wind season. Equipment rental is available for certified riders who just need gear, and the centre stocks boards, sails, kites, and wetsuits in a full range of sizes.
The Gera Lario location is the sweet spot for wind sports on Lake Como — the thermal winds here blow more consistently and stronger than anywhere else on the lake, and the wide-open water at the northern end gives riders plenty of space. Tabo's experienced instructors, structured curriculum, and prime position make it the go-to school for anyone serious about learning to sail, surf, or fly on Lake Como.
