About Vista Fleet
Vista Fleet is Duluth's excursion boat company, running narrated sightseeing cruises, dinner cruises, and special event sailings through the Duluth–Superior harbour and out onto Lake Superior. The fleet consists of two vessels — the Vista Star, a 100-ton ship accommodating up to 220 passengers, and the Vista Queen, a 46-ton vessel holding up to 50 for more intimate outings — both departing from 323 Harbor Drive in Canal Park.
The sightseeing cruise lineup includes narrated harbour tours that pass giant lake freighters, foreign cargo ships, ore docks, and grain elevators before heading under the Aerial Lift Bridge and onto Lake Superior. Dinner cruises feature plated meals or buffets with live music, and themed events run throughout the season — champagne dinners, pizza cruises, happy hour sails, and holiday specials for Mother's Day, Father's Day, and the Fourth of July.
Vista Fleet has been a Duluth institution for decades, and it remains one of the most popular ways for visitors to experience the working port from the water. The narrated tours pack in a surprising amount of Great Lakes maritime history, and the dinner cruises are a go-to for celebrations. Reservations are recommended, especially for weekend sunset and dinner sailings during peak summer.
