About WaterHorse Adventures
WaterHorse Adventures is a Five Star SDI, TDI, ERDI, and PADI scuba diving center based in Glens Falls, just 15 minutes from Lake George Village. They are the premier dive shop in the southern Adirondacks, offering everything from beginner certification courses to advanced technical diving instruction, plus guided dive excursions on Lake George and the Hudson River year-round.
Lake George is renowned as one of the clearest freshwater lakes in the United States, with visibility reaching 20 to 30 feet in summer, making it an exceptional freshwater dive destination. WaterHorse leads open-water dives from June through September and ice diving expeditions during winter, exploring submerged boat wrecks, underwater rock formations, and the lake's unique geology. They also run drift dives and shallow-water sessions on the Hudson River for variety. The shop carries a full line of dive gear for sale and rental.
What makes WaterHorse unique is their year-round diving program — while most lake operations shut down after Labor Day, WaterHorse keeps diving through fall and into winter ice season, giving certified divers access to Lake George when few others are on the water. Their instructors hold multiple agency certifications, and the shop has built a loyal community of local and visiting divers over the years.
