August 2026 Product Releases

August 2026 Product Releases

August's theme was control before the booking lands. Eight features shipped this month: quotes a customer can sign before anything is booked, booking requests you approve instead of auto-confirm, a keyboard shortcut that takes a phone booking without leaving the page, one screen for every unsigned waiver, a report that tells you whether a piece of gear has paid for itself, and a round of Dash upgrades that learn how you like things handled and reach into the apps you already use. Whether you rent gear, run tours, or do both, here's the roundup, grouped by what it does.

Bookings & Payments

Three features for the bookings that don't fit a plain online checkout: the big job that needs a proposal first, the slot you want to vet, and the walk-up you need to take in thirty seconds.

August 2026 quote to booking flow showing a signable proposal, a held booking request, and a Quick Book shortcut

Quotes. Send a priced, signable proposal before anything's booked. Build it on the booking screen from real items and prices, so the quoted total is the booking total, then send one private link where the customer reviews, signs, and accepts online. You can hold the dates while they decide. One click turns an accepted quote into a booking, with nothing re-keyed. The corporate group, the wedding party, and the contractor who needs a number for his client all get a document that looks like a proposal and behaves like a booking.

Booking Requests. Not every booking should confirm itself. Let customers request a time slot online instead of booking outright: the slot is held while you review, and you approve or decline. Their card is only charged when you accept, so nobody gets charged for a trip you were never going to run, and you stay in control of who gets on the calendar. Useful for private charters, guided trips that depend on a guide's availability, and any hire where you want to see the customer before you commit the gear.

Quick Book. Take a booking from any page in under 30 seconds, without opening the POS. Hit Cmd/Ctrl + J, pick the customer, date, and item, and you're done. Built for the phone booking that comes in while you're halfway through something else, and the walk-up you don't want to make wait while you find the right screen.

Operations

Two features for the questions you keep asking staff: who hasn't signed, and has that thing earned its money back yet.

Consent tracking board listing unsigned waivers beside a Return on Investment report showing an item's payback

Consent Tracking. Stop scrolling bookings to find who hasn't signed. One screen lists every upcoming booking with an outstanding waiver or form: how many have signed, who opened it but didn't finish, and when the next reminder goes out. Set a reminder sequence once and EquipDash chases automatically, stopping the moment someone signs. The Saturday-morning check-in queue gets shorter because the chasing happened on Thursday.

Return on Investment Report. See whether your equipment has earned its money back. Record what you paid for an item, and the Return on Investment report shows what it has earned in rental income, its return as a percentage, and whether it has paid for itself yet, or how much is still to go. Fleet decisions (buy another, retire this one, stop stocking that size) get a number instead of a hunch.

AI & Automation

Two Dash upgrades: it starts learning how you run things, and it builds the spreadsheet so you don't have to.

Dash Agent Skills suggestion cards next to a Dash AI Exports request that builds a CSV or PDF on demand

Dash Agent Skills. After real runs, Dash suggests how you like things handled, as plain-English cards you keep or dismiss. A rainy-day cancellation, a second overdue reminder, how you word a deposit refund: once you've handled it your way a few times, Dash offers to remember it. Nothing is saved without your say-so, and the Dash Agent Skills page shows everything Dash knows, all editable. It's your operating manual, written by watching you work.

Dash AI Exports. Need a spreadsheet or a PDF? Just ask. Describe what you want (this month's bookings, a customer list, a revenue summary) and the format you want it in, and Dash builds the CSV or PDF ready to download. No report builder to set up, no column mapping, no export wizard.

Integrations

Dash Agent Connected Apps. Agents can now work with the apps you already use: Google Calendar, Gmail, Sheets, WhatsApp, Xero, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp. You tick exactly what each app may do, and anything sent outside EquipDash asks you first, like adding a confirmed trip to your calendar or sending a WhatsApp reminder. Your bookkeeping, your inbox, and your calendar stay where they are; Dash just stops making you copy things between them.

That's August. Eight features, most of them about the moment before a booking is confirmed: quoting it, vetting it, taking it fast, and making sure the paperwork behind it is signed. Everything here is live in your dashboard now, nothing to install. Catch up on last month's drop in the July 2026 roundup, browse the full history on the releases page, or if you're not on EquipDash yet, see how it fits together on the product overview or book a demo.

FAQ

Are all 8 August features available on my plan?

Quotes, Booking Requests, Quick Book, Consent Tracking, and the Return on Investment report are included on all plans. Dash Agent Skills, Dash Agent Connected Apps, and Dash AI Exports use your plan's Dash AI allowance, so heavier use may depend on your tier. Check inside your dashboard or ask our team if you're unsure.

Do I need to install or update anything to get these features?

No. EquipDash is cloud-based, so every August feature is already live in your dashboard. Quick Book works from any page with Cmd/Ctrl + J, and Connected Apps are switched on per app from the Dash Agents settings.

What's the difference between a quote and a booking request?

A quote is a priced proposal you build and send; the customer reviews, signs, and accepts it online, and it becomes a booking when they do. A booking request is the customer asking for a slot from your booking page; the slot is held while you review, and their card is only charged when you accept. Quotes suit bigger jobs that need a document first. Booking requests suit slots you want to vet before confirming.

Does Dash Agent Skills change anything without asking me?

No. After real runs, Dash suggests how you seem to like things handled as plain-English cards, and nothing is saved unless you keep the card. The Dash Agent Skills page lists everything Dash has learned, and every entry can be edited or removed.

Which apps can Dash Agents connect to, and can they send things on their own?

Google Calendar, Gmail, Google Sheets, WhatsApp, Xero, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp. You choose exactly what each app is allowed to do, and any action that sends something outside EquipDash, like a calendar invite or a message, asks you for approval first.

How does the Return on Investment report work out whether an item has paid for itself?

You record what you paid for the item. The report then adds up the rental income that item has earned, shows the return as a percentage, and tells you whether it has covered its purchase price yet, or how much is still to go.
