About 40Knots
40Knots is Antigua's specialist kite, windsurf, and SUP school, operating from the north beach of Green Island at the mouth of Nonsuch Bay on the island's east coast. The location is exceptional: an outer reef breaks the ocean swell to create flat, warm water inside the bay while letting the Caribbean trade winds blow consistently across the riding area — a combination that makes it one of the safest and most productive learning environments in the Leeward Islands.
The school is staffed by IKO-certified instructors who teach kitesurfing from beginner through advanced, including dedicated kids' programmes. Every lesson is supported by a chase dinghy so the instructor stays in close contact throughout the session. Beyond kiting, 40Knots offers wing foiling tuition, windsurf hire, and stand-up paddleboard rentals with delivery anywhere in the Nonsuch Bay and Falmouth areas. Private and group lesson formats are available.
What distinguishes 40Knots is the sheltered, reef-protected setting that removes the anxiety of open-ocean learning without sacrificing wind quality. The flat water accelerates progression, the warm temperatures mean no wetsuit is needed, and the small-group format ensures personal attention. For anyone serious about picking up a board sport while on holiday, 40Knots is the logical choice in Antigua.
