About Colorado River Guides
Colorado River Guides is a small, family-owned whitewater rafting company with over 40 years of experience running trips on the Upper Colorado River near Steamboat Springs and Vail. Operating from their riverside boathouse at Bond, Colorado — about an hour south of Steamboat — they offer half-day and full-day rafting adventures through scenic canyons with rapids ranging from Class I to Class IV depending on water levels.
Trip options include mellow scenic floats ideal for families with young children, moderate intermediate runs with consistent Class II-III whitewater, and advanced sections with challenging Class III-IV rapids during peak spring runoff. All trips include professional guides, rafts, paddles, PFDs, helmets, and wetsuits when water temperatures demand them. They also offer inflatable kayak (ducky) trips for those wanting a more hands-on paddling experience.
Four decades of operation on the same stretch of river gives their guide team unmatched local knowledge of every eddy, wave train, and lunch beach. The intimate family-run feel means smaller group sizes and personalized attention — you won't feel like a number on a factory-style raft trip. Their riverside boathouse location means zero shuttle time to the put-in.
