About Saddleback Ranch
Saddleback Ranch is a fourth-generation working cattle ranch sprawling across 8,000 acres of pristine Colorado terrain, located just 15 miles west of Steamboat Springs. Operating year-round, the ranch offers an authentic Western experience that blends genuine ranching heritage with accessible outdoor adventures for visitors of all ages and skill levels.
Winter activities include guided snowmobile tours across private groomed trails and open meadows, horseback rides through snow-covered valleys, and exhilarating snow tubing on the ranch's Yee-Haw Tubing Hill complete with a state-of-the-art surface lift. Summer brings cattle drives lasting up to four hours, scenic one- and two-hour horseback rides, picnic rides, and evening dinner rides on select nights. The ranch also offers ATV tours and fly fishing on private waters.
What distinguishes Saddleback Ranch is the exclusivity of riding on private land — they are the only snowmobile tour operator in Steamboat Springs with access to their own private mountain terrain. The family-run operation delivers a genuine ranch atmosphere rather than a manufactured tourist experience, with complimentary shuttle service from Steamboat lodging making access effortless.
