About Jasper Planetarium
Jasper Planetarium is the premier stargazing experience in the world's second-largest accessible Dark Sky Preserve. Located at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, the planetarium combines a state-of-the-art 38-seat domed theatre with outdoor telescope viewing using the largest and most powerful telescopes in the Canadian Rockies.
Their guided experiences include planetarium dome shows covering local constellations and aurora activity, outdoor telescope sessions where guests observe planets, nebulae, and galaxies, and laser-guided constellation tours with binocular viewing of the Milky Way. They also offer a Dark Sky Package combining accommodations with astronomy tours, and special events during meteor showers and celestial events throughout the year.
What sets the Jasper Planetarium apart is the combination of world-class dark skies and professional-grade equipment rarely available outside research observatories. Their experienced astronomy guides make complex astrophysics accessible and entertaining for all ages, and the location within Jasper National Park means virtually zero light pollution for exceptional viewing conditions year-round.
