About Kelp Reef Adventures
Kelp Reef Adventures is a sea kayaking company based at Fisherman's Wharf, 1 Dallas Road, on the edge of Victoria's Inner Harbor. The small, guide-owned operation specializes in getting first-time and casual paddlers onto the ocean safely, exploring the kelp beds, rocky shorelines and floating-home village that make the harbor entrance one of the most interesting short paddles on Vancouver Island.
Guided tours depart daily through the warmer months and range from relaxed harbor paddles to longer coastal routes toward the Strait of Juan de Fuca, with seals, otters, herons and the occasional whale sighting along the way. Stable double and single kayaks, paddling jackets and all safety gear are supplied, and guides give a full on-land orientation before launch, so no prior experience is needed. Sunset departures and private group bookings are also available.
What sets Kelp Reef apart is its small-group format and location: tours launch straight from the wharf's docks beside the fish-and-chip shacks, keeping groups intimate and the pace unhurried.
