About Kingmik Dog Sled Tours
Kingmik Dog Sled Tours is the only dog sledding operation permitted inside Banff National Park, running from their base near Lake Louise since 1982. With over four decades of experience, Kingmik offers an authentic mushing experience through the quiet backcountry wilderness of the Great Divide, led by expert guides and teams of Alaskan huskies.
Tours range from short introductory runs to the signature Great Divide Tour, which takes guests deep into the Continental Divide backcountry on a half-day adventure. All tours include warm blankets, hot chocolate, and the chance to interact with the dogs before and after the run. Groups are kept small for a personal, immersive experience far from crowds.
What makes Kingmik special is their deep connection to the mushing tradition — several of their guides are competitive sled dog racers, and the kennel breeds and trains its own dogs year-round. The location at the base of the Great Divide offers scenery that no other Canadian dog sled operator can match.
