About Lava Show
Lava Show is the world's only live lava exhibition, superheating real Icelandic lava to 1,100 degrees Celsius and pouring it into a custom-designed showroom just metres from the audience. Located at Fiskislod 73 in Reykjavik's Grandi Harbour District, this award-winning attraction recreates the raw power of a volcanic eruption in a completely safe, controlled indoor environment.
Each show lasts approximately 50 minutes and includes expert narration about Iceland's volcanic geology, eruption history, and the science behind molten rock. The Classic Experience runs multiple daily showtimes in English, while the Premium Experience adds VIP balcony seating, a backstage tour, and exclusive access to the lava preparation area. Both options are suitable for all ages and weather conditions.
Since opening, Lava Show has earned Tripadvisor's Best of the Best designation in 2024 and 2025, plus the 2025 Viator Experience Award — cementing its reputation as one of Iceland's must-see attractions. For visitors unable to witness a real eruption, this is the closest and safest way to experience molten lava firsthand, with the heat and glow visible from the front row.
