About Miss Chris Boats
Miss Chris Boats is Cape May's long-running party boat fishing operation, sailing from the Miss Chris Marina at the foot of the Cape May Harbor. The Miss Chris and her sister vessel the Lady Chris have carried generations of anglers out of the harbor, and the boats remain one of the most affordable ways to fish the productive waters off the southern tip of New Jersey.
The schedule centers on half-day and full-day open-boat trips targeting the region's staples — summer flounder, sea bass, and other bottom fish depending on season. No experience is needed: rod rental, bait, and help from a working deck crew are all part of the trip, and the crew will show first-timers how to rig, drop, and land a fish. Families, vacationers, and serious regulars share the rail on most sailings.
The walk-on format is the differentiator. Unlike private charters that book by the boat, Miss Chris trips sell by the seat, so a solo angler or a family of four can fish without organizing a full group. Decades of local knowledge about the rips, reefs, and channels off Cape May mean the captains put customers on fish day after day.
