About Outdoor Adventure Rafting
Outdoor Adventure Rafting is the oldest rafting company on the Ocoee River, guiding paddlers through the Cherokee National Forest since 1976. With nearly five decades of operation, they have more institutional knowledge of the Ocoee's currents, eddies, and rapids than any other outfitter on the corridor — a depth of experience that shows in every trip.
They offer the full Ocoee menu: half-day Middle Ocoee runs through non-stop Class III-IV whitewater, Upper Ocoee Olympic section trips on the 1996 Games course, and full-day combos that link both stretches into one epic outing. Trips depart multiple times daily during the season, and the company provides all safety gear including PFDs, helmets, paddles, and wetsuits for cooler conditions. Group rates and corporate team-building packages are available.
Being the original Ocoee outfitter carries weight here — the guides aren't just trained, they're steeped in river culture that stretches back to when the Ocoee was first opened to commercial rafting. The staging area in Ducktown is well-organised with changing rooms, a gear shop, and post-trip gathering space. Their longevity speaks for itself: nearly 50 years of safe, memorable river days.
