About Sailing Du Lac
Sailing Du Lac is a well-established sailing school and watersports centre on the main beach of Riva del Garda, set within the grounds of the prestigious Du Lac et Du Parc Grand Resort on Viale Rovereto. Operating from May through to November each year, the centre is ideally positioned where the Ora wind funnels through the Sarca Valley to deliver some of the most consistent sailing conditions on any European lake.
The school maintains a large and varied fleet including catamarans for one to four sailors, dinghies for two to six crew, Laser boats, mini yachts, and children's training boats. Beyond sailing, they offer windsurf lessons and rentals, kayak hire for solo or tandem paddling, and guided joy rides on fast catamarans for guests who want the thrill without the tiller. All courses follow VDWS certification standards, and the instruction team runs everything from two-hour taster sessions to week-long intensive programmes and school group trips.
Sailing Du Lac's strength is accessibility — the beachfront location means students walk from their lesson straight onto the sand, and the resort backdrop provides changing rooms, a bar, and restaurant without needing to leave the site. The sheltered bay at Riva's northern end gives beginners a forgiving playground, while experienced sailors can head south into the open lake for more demanding conditions within minutes.
