About Sun Peaks Backcountry Tours and Avalanche Training
Sun Peaks Backcountry Tours and Avalanche Training is a small guiding and avalanche school based at Sun Peaks Resort. The owner is a certified ski instructor and ski guide who has skied the Sun Peaks backcountry for close to three decades.
It is the resort's only AST provider and runs the two-day AST 1 course every weekend in season from December 19, a one-day tree well and mountain safety course, and an introduction to backcountry touring. Avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel and pack are included. Courses are booked on its website.
