About Superior Sport Fishing
Superior Sport Fishing runs charter fishing trips out of Bayfield, Wisconsin, targeting the prized cold-water species that thrive in Lake Superior around the Apostle Islands. Captain-guided trips pursue lake trout, brown trout, steelhead, and chinook salmon throughout the island archipelago, where the deep, clear waters and complex underwater structure create some of the best freshwater fishing in the upper Midwest.
Charters are available in half-day and full-day formats, accommodating small groups aboard a fully equipped fishing vessel with downriggers, rod holders, electronics, and all tackle provided. The captain adjusts tactics and locations based on seasonal fish movements, water temperatures, and current conditions — early season trips often focus on shallow-water trout near island shoals, while summer charters run deeper trolling patterns between the islands. All experience levels are welcome, from first-time anglers to seasoned trophy hunters.
What sets Superior Sport Fishing apart is the Apostle Islands setting itself — trolling past sea caves, lighthouses, and forested islands while fighting a lake trout is an experience you simply cannot get on inland lakes. The captain's detailed knowledge of the island waters, built over years of daily fishing, translates directly into higher catch rates and more time with fish on the line rather than searching.
