About Telluride Nordic Center
The Telluride Nordic Center is a community-focused facility operated by the Telluride Nordic Association, housed in the Town Park Pavilion at 500 East Colorado Avenue. Open daily from ten in the morning to four in the afternoon between mid-November and March, the centre maintains three expertly groomed kilometres of classic and skate ski trails right in the heart of town — making it one of the most accessible nordic skiing venues in the Colorado Rockies. Affordable rentals of classic cross-country skis, skate skis, snowshoes, ice skates, and sleds are available on a walk-in basis.
Private and group lessons run for ninety minutes and are offered at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, with no advance booking required — just call the centre during operating hours to sign up. For those looking to venture beyond the in-town loops, guided tours depart to nearby Trout Lake and Priest Lake, where longer wilderness trails wind through alpine meadows and spruce forest. Tours typically run from half past nine to three o'clock and cater to all skill levels, making them a popular option for families and first-time nordic skiers.
The adjacent Town Park ice rink provides a natural complement to the nordic centre, and ice skate rentals and sharpening services are available on site.
