About Volcano Watersports
Volcano Watersports is a premium towed-watersports operator based at El Castillo on the shores of Lake Arenal, specializing in wakeboarding, wakesurfing, waterskiing, and tubing with the Arenal Volcano as a backdrop. They run a brand-new Super Air Nautique G23 — one of the world's top tournament wakeboard boats — giving riders professional-grade wakes whether they are first-timers or experienced boarders.
Beyond towed sports, they offer stand-up paddleboard and kayak rentals for guests who prefer a self-guided session on the lake. Professional instructors provide coaching for all skill levels, from complete beginners learning to get up on a wakeboard to intermediate riders working on tricks. Equipment, life jackets, and instruction are included in every session, and the boat launches from their lakeside dock just a 10-minute walk from El Castillo village.
What makes Volcano Watersports unique in the La Fortuna area is their focus on towed watersports — most operators on Lake Arenal stick to kayaks and jet skis. The combination of flat morning water, volcano scenery, and a world-class boat creates an experience that rivals dedicated wakeboard destinations anywhere in the world, but in a tropical rainforest setting.
