Voss Active is one of Norway's longest-running adventure operators, based on the banks of the Stranda river just outside Voss in the heart of the country's self-styled extreme sports capital. With more than 30 years guiding visitors down its whitewater, the company has grown from a rafting outfit into a full nature-based activity centre with its own riverside hotel, restaurant and outdoor spa.
Their summer programme covers Grade 4 full-action whitewater rafting and gentler family rafting trips, plus river boarding, canyon jumping and waterfall rappelling for those chasing a bigger thrill. A dedicated high-rope and zipline adventure park at Vossestrand adds a treetop element, and combination packages bundle water, rope and wind sports into a single multi-activity day with experienced guides supplying all the gear.
